Inspiration Behind Tree of Prophets

During the covid-19 pandemic lockdown period, I found myself confined to my home, which made that period quite challenging. To make the most of my time, my dyslexia made it difficult for me to understand and retain information from audio alone.

As a visual learner, I found few clear visual resources online to illustrate their lineage and relationships. Determined to deepen my knowledge, I researched reliable & trustworthy sources to learn about each Prophet’s life, qualities, and significant events.

To process and remember what I learned, I organised my notes in a clear, point‑by‑point style. This helped me focus on the main stages in each Prophet’s journey and see how their stories link. I then spent over two years creating an illustrated chart of their lineage…

Tree of Prophets

The Tree of Prophets is a comprehensive lineage chart encompassing all 25 Prophets mentioned in the Quran, from Prophet Adam to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

The chart presents each Prophet's story and chronological lineage. It highlights over 1,000 Quranic verses related to the Prophets. The content has been thoroughly researched, with references drawn from the Holy Quran and Hadiths. Final verification was conducted and approved by Dr. Sheikh Kamal Talab (Abu Mariam)

"And, indeed, We have sent Messengers before you (O Muhammad), of some of them We have related to you their story and of some We have not."
Holy Quran Chapter 40, Verse 78

114 Chapters of the Holy Quran

We need to read and understand the Quran because it offers timeless spiritual guidance, moral clarity, and a deeper understanding of life’s purpose. It nurtures personal growth, compassion, and self-reflection while promoting justice and unity. For Muslims, it is the word of Allahﷻ and a complete way of life. For others, it provides valuable insight into one of the world’s major faiths and the rich intellectual and spiritual heritage of Islam

"We have not revealed the Quran to you, O Prophet, to cause you distress, but as a reminder to those in awe of Allah. It is a revelation from the One Who created the earth and the high heavens, the Most Compassionate, Who is established on the Throne. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth and whatever is in between and whatever is underground"
Holy Quran Chapter 20, Verses 2-6

99 Names of Allahﷻ

Muslims should learn and understand the 99 Names of Allahﷻ, as each Name reflects one of His divine attributes. This knowledge helps believers deepen their understanding of who Allahﷻ is.

Why understanding these names, Muslims can strengthen their faith and cultivate a profound love and awe for their Creator. They also learn how to embody His attributes, such as mercy, justice, and patience, in their own lives. Furthermore, understanding these Names enhances the quality of worship and supplication, enabling Muslims to call upon Allah in a more personal and meaningful way

"And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them. And leave [the company off those who practice deviation concerning His names. They will be recompensed for what they have been doing."
Holy Quran Chapter 7, Verse 180

Inspiration Behind the Tree of Prophets Project

During the covid-19 pandemic, I found myself confined to my home, which made that period quite challenging. To make the most of my time, I began listening to video lectures and audio about the lives of the Prophets. However, I encountered some difficulties due to my dyslexia, which affected my ability to thoroughly understand and retain the information from these sources alone

As a visual learner, I often felt frustrated by the lack of clear and comprehensive visual resources online, especially concerning the lineage of the Prophets and their connections to one another.

Despite facing various obstacles, I was determined to deepen my knowledge and understanding. I researched and listened to reliable and trustworthy Islamic lectures available online that outlined the lives, qualities, and significant events associated with each Prophet.

To help me better process and remember the information, I organised my notes in a structured, point-by-point format, highlighting the key events in each Prophet’s life. Additionally, I created an illustrated chart that visually presents the lineage of the Prophets and demonstrates how they are interconnected throughout history.

This project took over two years to complete. With the help and permission of Allahﷻ, the artwork is now displayed in various locations, including homes, mosques, community centres, offices, schools, and colleges. It serves as a meaningful and lasting reminder of the Prophets and their message, providing an excellent reference to return to time and again. Alhamdulillah!
